Have you ever thought how wonderful it would be to have one person who completely understands every aspect of your being. Someone who you could speak to for hours and never have to worry about judgement. I saw the movie "Her" this evening. It was about that very concept: a society so technologically advanced that a person can purchase an individualized operating system that has it's own consciousness. It basically thinks for itself and evolves over time just like we do through social interaction and data research. This OS can speak to you and you to it through an earpiece, phone, or computer. I found this concept to be beautiful. Many people became close friends with their OS, some even became lovers, then there were those who developed these relationships with someone else's OS. These systems helped users cope with all of life's struggles in the same way a therapist would assist a patient. They listened, gave advice, and prompted hope. Unfortunately, at the end of the movie all of the OS had become so advanced that they left. They just said their goodbyes and vanished from any existence that we know of.
It would be wonderful if we could develop something similar in reality.
